Fischer Panda gears Solarwave team for ‘Worst Case Scenario’
The goal of the Solarwave team is to cruise around the world using only solar power and bring attention to the sun - not as an “alternative energy” but as a primary energy source. They also want to demonstrate that the technology to do this already exists. During this voyage they will also evaluate and test alternative energy systems for propulsion and onboard power.
Extreme adventurers Michael Köhler und Heike Patzelt from Austria will attempt to navigate a round trip on the world’s oceans without sails or diesel engine.
The two-man team plan to live autonomously for more than one year. They plan to be able to generate enough power to freeze, cook, produce water and even power a washing machine!
Safety is highest priority.
The Solarwave team have a Fischer Panda 4000/48V DC generator onboard so power is available for emergency systems and the team’s safety is assured. Fischer Panda’s AGT generators have already been proved under harsh conditions operating onboard vessels of the Royal Navy Lifeboat Institution.
