Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo 2016

Fischer Panda recently displayed their electric propulsion systems at the Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo in Amsterdam which took place from 21 until 23 June 2016.

The attendance was overwhelming. 'We had a lot of interesting talks with customers and we are convinced that these will lead to further business", says Gerhard Hesse from Fischer Panda's sales team for propulsion systems.

On display were:

  • a 48V EasyBox AZIPROP system, 20 kW, 600 rpm with 320 Nm torque which is designed as primary drive
  • a 48V 10 kW Parallel Hybrid Drive System
  • a Aziprop Pod Motor,  20 kW 600 rpm, with 320 Nm  torque, with 48 V safety low voltage and propeller protection

The EasyBox is the heart of our propulsion systems. All the main electrical components such as motor controller, a DC-DC converter (48V to 24V) and all fuses and connections are housed within a single unit thus making it very easy to install.

The propulsion system uses extremely compact electric motors. They are water-cooled and offer a very high performance.

The propulsion units can be set up in three main ways:

  • Pure electric propulsion, i.e. fully battery supported (running with most kinds of battery types) - silent cruising
  • Parallel-hybrid electric propulsion - to assist an existing ship's main combustion engine
  • Hybrid system in combination with a generator, which acts as a range extender keeping the batteries charged while cruising without the need for shorepower.

All components of the systems are designed, tested and fit together perfectly. The generator-supported systems are a complete integrated energy solution for yachts and small working vessels.
