To enable the 15m, 20 ton water-taxi to pass under the lowest of bridges in London, a vessel with an extremely low construction and additional ballast tanks was designed. The electrical system including TFT displays and air conditioning is supplied by a Panda 12/4 HD generator. While the 12 passengers seated individually on leather chairs enjoy the luxury interior and journey, a AGT-DE 52KU supplies the power to an underwater 42kW AZIPROP drive. As part of a backup system, the smaller standard generator can be used, which itself can reach speeds of 6 knots.
During the development phase of this project, the rotatable electric Aziprop drive proved to be the perfect choice. An extremely quiet drive-system, which also technologically suited the elaborate boat design, was of great importance.
Excellent manoeuvring capabilities enable the boat to navigate London's narrow waterways without the need for an additional stern-thruster.
